How to Cancel Your 1Password Subscription

If you subscribed to 1Password directly, you cancel from the Billing section on 1Password.com. The good news: even after you cancel, your account is only frozen - you can still sign in to view and export your data. Where it gets confusing is in-app purchases through Apple or Google, which must be canceled through that platform. Here's the current flow; check each label on screen since 1Password adjusts its billing pages over time.

How to cancel, step by step

1Sign in on 1Password.com

Open 1password.com in a browser and sign in to your account. Subscription changes are managed on the web, not inside the desktop or mobile apps.

2Open Billing

Select Billing in the left sidebar, then open Billing Settings to see your current plan and renewal details.

3Start the cancellation

Select Cancel subscription (it may appear as Unsubscribe) and follow the on-screen prompts.

4Confirm

Complete the confirmation steps. Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, after which the account is frozen.

5Export your data if needed

While the account is frozen you can still sign in to view and export your data - do this before deleting the account if you want a copy.

Common gotchas to avoid

Cancelled? Make sure it stays gone

Forgot you were even paying for this? You are probably paying for others too. SubScan adds up every subscription, flags what you have stopped using, and ranks your fastest savings - so you cancel the right ones and they do not creep back. Everything stays on your device: no bank login, no account, no upload.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my passwords when I cancel?

No. Canceling freezes the account; you can still sign in to 1Password.com and the apps to view and export your data, as long as you don't delete the account.

Can I reactivate later?

Yes. 1Password lets you cancel and reactivate anytime without losing your account, so a freeze isn't permanent.

Why don't I see a Cancel button?

If you subscribed through Apple's App Store or Google Play, the cancel option lives in that store's subscription settings rather than on 1Password.com.
